Disney World Fall 2020
Fall is one of my favorite times at Disney World. Food & Wine Festival, the Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, fall weather, and more, I mean what isn’t to love? It should come as no surprise, however, that this year is going to look different than past years.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2020
Disney announced that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has been canceled due to limitations put in place for COVID-19. Personally, as much as it sucks, I think this makes a lot of sense. I did the Halloween party last year without fireworks and it felt “off.” I cannot imagine what it would be like without the Hocus Pocus show, parade, AND fireworks.
If you’re anything like me and want to pretend you’re “there” and reliving the Halloween Party. I suggest watching some great videos on YouTube for the fireworks, parade, and stage show. Obviously it isn’t the same, but it does help with the nostalgia!
Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival 2020
The better news is that they did not cancel the Food & Wine Festival! It will not be the same as years past and is now going by “A Taste of Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.” Since it is only a portion of the exciting activities and booths.
The festival will start on July 15 and continue through the fall. No official date has been given for the ending. You will see 20 global marketplaces with favorites like Hawaii, Hops & Barley, and Islands of the Caribbean.
They will have Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak scavenger hunt still! Personally, I love these hunts so as small as it may seem I’m glad they can still offer that.
The Eat to the Beat Concert Series, unfortunately, will not take place this year. Disney said that there will be entertainment acts like Mariachi Cobre and the JAMMitors. They will spread out those performances so more audiences can enjoy them.
Since COVID-19 put an abrupt stop to the Flower and Garden Festival, you will be able to find Flower and Garden merchandise during the Food & Wine Festival this year. Plus, Disney’s newest topiary Remy in the France pavilion!
Winter 2020
While the winter of 2020 might seem far away, it is still very much on people’s minds. Especially when discussing when will the parks return to “normal.” I don’t think the parks will ever look the same (for better or for worse). I think most people’s definition of normal for the parks is simply not wearing a mask, the shows/fireworks returning, and not needing a reservation for a theme park.
With the cancellation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and the change for Food & Wine Festival, people are obviously curious about what that means for the holiday celebrations.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Epcot’s International Festival of the Holidays, including the Candlelight Processional, have not been canceled…yet. Disney stated they will continue to monitor the situation and work to find a way to bring Disney magic while still keeping health and safety a priority.
