House of Blues Bayou Brunch Review
House of Blues at Disney Springs started their Bayou Brunch about two months ago. Saturday and Sunday from 10am-1pm you have the option to enjoy a New Orleans inspired buffet.
How much is the Bayou Brunch?
Currently, the Bayou Brunch at House of Blues is $33 for adults, $15 for kids (ages 3-9) and free for children under three-years-old. Adults over 21 also have the option of adding bottomless mimosas or bottomless Bloody Mary’s for $15. There is also a build your own old fashioned for $12, as well as beer, wine, and cocktail specials.
What is included at the Bayou Brunch?
The Bayou Brunch includes coffee, juices, and soft beverages for drinks. The food is buffet style except for a carving station and made to order omelet bar.
The buffet had items such as scrambled eggs, andouille sausage, candied bacon (which was delicious), chicken and waffles, shrimp and crawfish etouffee, and more! Check out the full menu here.
Of course, no brunch would be complete with dessert options, which you will find as well! Personally loved the little chocolate cupcake item.
Highlights of the Bayou Brunch
I think one of the major highlights is the price. The buffet is a great price for the variation and quality of food you get. The drink specials are all priced at actual drink special prices instead of what normally passes as a “special” in Disney.
The second thing you’ll notice is the live music. We are suckers for a live band. It really adds to the atmosphere for the restaurant.
The buffet has great variation and offers plenty of items to pick from. However, the carving and made to order omelet station are the true standouts for the food. It is easy to miss since it is just off to the left side and down a few steps of the buffet.
I’m not someone who typically likes a lot of meat with my breakfast besides bacon (LOVE bacon), but that carving station was delicious. The made to order omelette station had a plethora of items to make your perfect omelet, I honestly don’t think it was missing anything.
Can you only order the buffet during those times?
No! One of the great things about this brunch is if you would like to order the buffet brunch, awesome! However, starting at 11:30am, if you would prefer to order a regular entree you have that option as well.
We were also told that your entire party does not have to select one or the other. If you would like the buffet, but someone else wants to order off the menu that is okay!
Would I recommend the Bayou Brunch?
Definitely! The price for the buffet and drink specials are similar to what I would expect to pay even outside of Disney.
I also love that it can be enjoyed on a Saturday. A lot of our trips we fly home on Sunday which means having a large meal takes a lot of time out of our last day. Not to mention having bottomless mimosas before a plane ride sounds like a way to guarantee a hangover on the plane. We were also able to take some of our mimosas to go. Our server put it in a to-go cup and we could walk around and finish our drink. Remember to drink responsibly!
Now, while I would recommend it, I don’t think this is somewhere to work your vacation plan around visiting. If it fits in your trip to go to Disney Springs for brunch on a Saturday or Sunday, go for it!
Who should eat at House of Blues for the Bayou Brunch?
While I enjoyed the Bayou Brunch in Disney Springs it isn’t necessarily for everyone. Here is a list of people who would enjoy the Bayou Brunch option the most:
- A group of adults looking for an inexpensive meal and bottomless mimosas
- Groups that need a break from the Disney magic
- Families that are split between wanting a buffet and wanting to order off the menu
Who should skip the Bayou Brunch?
I wouldn’t recommend the Bayou Brunch at House of Blues in Disney Springs for a few different people.
- If you would like to have some type of Disney magic with your meal
- Anyone who doesn’t plan to already be at Disney Springs or explore Disney Springs after
- Groups that are looking for a more upscale brunch, such as California Grill
What to know before you go
I spoke with our server about when the buffet starts to be removed, if it was at 1pm or if people could order the buffet up until then. She said while it usually stays around past 1pm to allow people to enjoy it, she wouldn’t recommend anyone ordered the buffet after 12:30pm, just to make sure they get their money’s worth.
This was also fairly new when we went and it was also downpouring rain so it was quite empty. We spoke with some of the cast members and they said while it was usually busier than the day we went, the fan-favorite brunch is the Gospel Brunch on Sundays.
Have you had a chance to eat at House of Blues yet? What did you think?!
