Jungle Book Disney Movie Night
Welcome to my crazy adventure of trying to watch every Disney-animated classic movie and every Pixar movie! I have been slowly making menus for each movie and finally started watching them. Jungle Book Disney movie night menu is based on food around the parks and featured (or slightly named) in the movie.
Do you want to watch every Disney movie too? Keep track using your very own Disney Scratch-Off Movie Poster!
As I watch each of these movies, we have been making a drink, dinner, and dessert that is inspired by the movie. Whether it is something directly from the movie, inspired by the culture or setting of the movie, or if there is something in the Disney Parks that fits!
Jungle Book we decided to go with mostly Indian cuisine, but the cocktail we based on Baloo’s song, The Bare Necessities. Since it is mentioned in the song we did a prickly pear margarita.
You can download the menu I made to print out for your dinner!! You can also download it as a 4×6 photo so you can fit two menus nicely on an 8.5×11 sheet.
Drink – Prickly Pear Margarita
- For the cocktail for Jungle Book we went with a prickly pear margarita. Fun fact, prickly pear is pink. Who knew? Not me. Anyway, they were actually delicious and refreshing so while it might not be in the same taste as the Indian cuisine we picked for dinner, I definitely recommend it. You can find a recipe here or below. You will need prickly pear syrup which I had issues finding in store so I ordered it off Amazon.
Prickly Pear Margarita Recipe
- coarse salt as needed
- 2 fluid ounces tequila
- 2 fluid ounces sweet and sour mix
- 1 fluid ounce triple sec
- 1 fluid ounce lime juice
- 1 fluid ounce prickly pear syrup
Dinner – Tikka Masala
I’m not going to lie, we went the “lazy” route with this meal. I was nervous about finding all of the spices needed to make a proper tikka masala sauce from scratch. We just bought a jar of sauce and it’s become a staple meal in our house. We paired the tikka masala chicken with basmati rice and some naan bread. This was a simple and delicious meal.
If you want to try a different Indian-inspired cuisine meal, check out this blog post. Another popular dish that is incredible is butter chicken!
Dessert – Bear Claw
We forgot to take a photo of the dessert, but we ended up going with bear claws! We went lazy on this one as well and we just picked some up at a local bakery. However, if you want to make them yourself or can’t find them I would recommend this recipe. They also sell the danish on Amazon if you want to just get it delivered to your house!
