The Incredibles Pixar Movie Night
Welcome to my crazy adventure of trying to watch every Disney-animated classic movie and every Pixar movie! I have been slowly making menus for each movie and finally started watching them. The Incredibles is one of the ones I was looking forward to, mostly because I absolutely love the movie. There are a lot of things you can decide to do for this movie so have fun with The Incredibles Pixar Movie Night!
Do you want to watch every Disney movie too? Keep track using your very own Pixar Scratch-Off Movie Poster!
As I watch each of these movies, we have been making a drink, dinner, and dessert that is inspired by the movie. Whether it is something directly from the movie, inspired by the culture or setting of the movie, or if there is something in the Disney Parks that fits!
The Incredibles are well represented in the Disney Parks, are set in the 1960s, and also have food in the movie. Because of this, you have quite a few options to pick from what your menu. We personally leaned more toward the 1960s for the theme of the menu. I figured Incredibles 2 would be perfect for the Disney Parks items.
You can download the menu I made to print out for your dinner!! You can also download it as a 4×6 photo so you can fit two menus nicely on an 8.5×11 sheet.
Drink – Old Fashioned
The cocktail we decided to do for The Incredibles was an old fashioned. We figured it would be a nice touch for the 1960s. It is also one of our favorite drinks, so that helps. The basics of the drink are pretty simple, but there are sometimes differences. I always use simple syrup and I never add a cherry. Some people prefer to muddle sugar over simple syrup too!
Old Fashioned Recipe
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3 dashes of Angostura bitters
- 1 teaspoon water
- 2 ounces bourbon (or rye whiskey, if preferred)
- Garnish: orange twist
Sometimes we swap out the bitters for a flavored one, like the black walnut!
Dinner – Salisbury Steak
We decided to go with Salisbury steak for dinner. Partly because I was curious and partly because it seemed very on-theme. It was tasty! It’s similar to a meatloaf except it has a great sauce. We paired it with potato sides and green beans. Please ignore the mashed potatoes, I added too much liquid to them because I was rushing.
Another dinner option, if you don’t want to go with the decade idea, is to do leftovers! When the Parrs are all sitting around the table they are having a leftover night. Can you think of anything simpler for a Disney movie night than just heating up some leftovers?!
Dessert – Pudding Pie
Pudding Pie in any form is truly such an easy dessert and usually a crowd-pleaser as well. I went with a chocolate Oreo pudding pie, but obviously, you are free to pick any! Another decade dessert we were debating was Jell-O, but pudding is just better in my opinion.
The only thing I did differently from the recipe for box pudding pie was crush up Oreos and add it to the pie itself. I wanted to add a little more flavor and crunch throughout the dessert.
